Dr. Eugene Cheong challenged the idea that flashy events like Dinner and Dances are enough, and introduced the CARE framework—Connection, Authenticity, Recognition, and Engagement—as a more consistent and meaningful approach. The discussion also highlighted how strong leadership, thoughtful recruitment, and fair compensation all play a role in building a workplace where people feel motivated to stay.

Facing challenges with traditional performance reviews and employee engagement? This event explored innovative solutions like HR gamification to address these issues. Andy Low shared practical examples of how gamified approaches can reduce overtime costs and enhance real-time feedback. The discussion also covered the effectiveness of micro-challenges and leaderboards in motivating staff, especially in fast-paced industries like F&B and retail.

Join Jessica Yang as she discusses how AI tools can automate repetitive tasks, such as resume screening and onboarding, allowing HR professionals to concentrate on strategic initiatives. The event highlighted that AI is a supportive tool, enhancing human decision-making and fostering a more productive HR environment.

Today we were joined by HR leaders from Jakarta’s F&B, Retail, and Health & Beauty sectors who discussed the delicate balance between strict compliance and fostering employee happiness. In the end, while compliance is essential, integrating empathy and open communication can lead to a more engaged and satisfied workforce.
