AI Engineer Intern (6-Month Contract)

StaffAny started humbly from Singapore and is growing fast. We are looking for fun loving interns who want to take ownership and deliver outsized impact. You will be part of the early team shaping how AI accelerates our roadmap and delivers value to our users.
Internship Journey
This is not your typical internship.
You will work directly with our CTO on new, zero to one AI initiatives. These include deploying agents that interact with users and automating complex workflows across our HR tech stack. This is a newly opened focus area for us. You won’t be following a script. You will help us write it.
You will be part of a small, fast-moving team exploring how LLMs can be embedded meaningfully into real-world systems. Some days you will be hacking on prototypes. Other days, you will be deep in prompts, edge cases, or evaluating what works in production. You will definitely help ship an AI feature that touches users. And in the best case, you’ll help us explore how far AI can actually go in transforming everyday workflows.
Salary and Period
- This role has a fixed salary of $1500 SGD
- This role is open immediately. The internship is expected to last 6 months

Requirements
This opportunity is open to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, and foreigners already residing in Singapore with a valid visa that allows such work.
You must have:
- Solid programming fundamentals, with a preference for Python
- Strong familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering
- A bias toward building and experimentation rather than theory
- Curiosity about how AI can be productively applied, not just how it works
Bonus if you have:
- Built or shipped an AI application before
- Experience with agentic workflows, tool use, or retrieval augmented generation pipelines
- Familiarity with frontend or backend development (TypeScript, React, Node.js, SQL)
Roles and Responsibilities
Your main role will be to build AI-powered features that deliver real value to users.
You’ll:
- Prototype and test AI-driven features, workflows, or agents
- Collaborate with the CTO, engineers, product managers, and designers to shape use cases
- Evaluate different model or tool choices and explain trade-offs
- Build and test integrations with existing systems
- Monitor, measure, and debug AI performance in production
You’ll also:
Assist other engineers with AI-related tasks or infrastructure
- Participate in manual testing and release workflows when needed
- Contribute to and write documentation for the team
Working Arrangements
- This is a full-time hybrid internship based in Singapore
- Work arrangements are flexible depending on your schedule, but you are expected to be in the office at least 2 days a week
- You are allowed to take up to 4 hours of classes per week during the internship
